I'm gonna skip the ColorX...Meguiars site lists it under Liquid Car Waxes and i'm afraid that a coat of ICE would take it off anyway. I'm sure the ScratchX will do fine.

it might remove the wax side of it, but it won't remove the benefits of the polish (less swirlies).

just a question(sorry to steal the thread) i clay barred and "5 stepped Meguires" the T/A in Oct of last yr, i was not impressed with the finish, it sat under a cover til mid march, i washed the car yesterday with a lil zaino wash and some palmolive to remove the old wax...and mind you..(it ALWAYS stays inside the garage) but my question is, should i re-clay bar the car? im thinking of skipping that step and maybe washing the car AGAIN with another round of palmolive before i zaino this wknd?

if the car sat under a cover or in a garage the whole time no. if youve been driving it ya go ahead and do it.

Nice looking T/A...My paint looks like total ***! I have clear coat peeling off on the roof, and the Front fender lines. Plus, it's so damn hot here that i have to replace my door seal, and windshield and rear glass seals from shrinkage.

If you have a DA, I would say use #82 instead .. the thing that makes ColorX nice is that it can be used effectivly by hand .. it is a mild cleaner/polish/wax combo .. it works very nice on dark colored cars.

in the pic below, I used #80 on a few bad swirly spots, then ColorX over the entire vehicle, then two coats of #21.

ColorX is a good mild, first choice when trying to get rid of swirlies.

Is that done with a pc or is that by hand???

Today I used PC, Sonus 3 step, and Megs NXT.

Before, my paint looked like a '00 car that hadn't been waxed. Swirls, light scratches, no real shine at all. I am now a believer in the PC.

I am a life-long single wax (gold class) kind of guy. In my opinion, it was an insane amount of work, but if you got paint that is in bad condition, don't fight it. Just PC it.
