Just used Meguiars 3 Step System *PICS*
I just finished using Meguiar's 3 Step Paint System and I am very pleased with the results. I recommend it to everyone, the swirl marks are gone and paint looks awesome! Only took a couple hours for all three steps. Tell me what you guys think!! Thanks!

Not to bring you down, but it looks like there's still a lot of spiderwebbing and faint scratches as you can see in the reflection in the last two pics. I like the meguiar's 3-step but it only works well if you don't need to do much to the paint. Looks like you're gonna need an actual abrasive polish and a pc for those to come out.

good progress .. looking pretty good so far ..
to get the swirlies out that you can still see, a PC would be your best bet .. if you don't want to spend that kind of $$ you could try a couple of things .. first.. try some Meg's ScratchX, applied by hand, following the directions, going over the worst parts.. then hit the whole car with Meg's ColorX, the repolish.
a couple of coats of the colorx by hand will help with those swirlies.

Keep at it....it's always best to start with the least abrasive method...if it doesn't work...then move on to more abrasive methods.
I would look into a PC Kit as your next step.....but it is definitely lookin' good.

Should I use Color X on a black car too? Never heard of the stuff.

If you have a DA, I would say use #82 instead .. the thing that makes ColorX nice is that it can be used effectivly by hand .. it is a mild cleaner/polish/wax combo .. it works very nice on dark colored cars.
in the pic below, I used #80 on a few bad swirly spots, then ColorX over the entire vehicle, then two coats of #21.
ColorX is a good mild, first choice when trying to get rid of swirlies.

use ScratchX to remove minor scratch marks by hand .. stuff that is heavier than a swirl, but not deep enough to require more intensive work, like a rotary.
one of the best uses for scratchx I have found is to remove all the scratches left under the door handle from fingernails, etc.
and a qualifier here.. there are other products by other companies that do the same thing, every bit as effectively. I am mentioning Meg's products because that is what I prefer. simple as that.

I agree, used 3 step meguires and added 2 imbetween step (swirl remover/show car gloss) and there are STILL small hairline scratches!! im hitting zaino this weekend, im hoping it will turn out like new!
just a question(sorry to steal the thread) i clay barred and "5 stepped Meguires" the T/A in Oct of last yr, i was not impressed with the finish, it sat under a cover til mid march, i washed the car yesterday with a lil zaino wash and some palmolive to remove the old wax...and mind you..(it ALWAYS stays inside the garage) but my question is, should i re-clay bar the car? im thinking of skipping that step and maybe washing the car AGAIN with another round of palmolive before i zaino this wknd?
