Hard top. Thats just my opinion. If you plan on turning it into strictly "a toy" one day. Verts aren't made to race. And I've seen the T-tops come right off the car going down the track because of the frame twisting. T-tops are fun though, and they look good.

i agree that if you are looking for a stariaght track car than get the hard top, but if you want something with more style and still have fun at the track then t-tops or verts will fit that bill, and some tracks will require t-tops to have a roll bar like the verts. just depends on what your ultimate goal is for the car and decide from there

I have a convertible and I'm gonna keep it for a long while. The biggest reason I took a 'Vert over a Hardtop/T-top car is because it will always be worth more. I feel these cars of ours ( F-Body 4th gens.) are going to end up as collectables. Why? Because they are good looking cars, very strong runners and they seem to have an attitude about them that other bland people carriers lack. If something should ever happen to this current convertible where it has to be replaced, then it will be replaced wth another convertible. Everyone has an opinion, but if you want to make that opinion known to others, choose the words to express it in a way that won't offend or make you look narrowminded.

*EDIT*
That was not intended for anyone in particular, just everyone including myself.

I've had a hardtop, a t-top, and a vert.

Imho you should already know if you want a vert. Chances are if you are sitting the fence then it probably isn't for you.

You give up a lot for the ability to drop the top and go, so you have to know you want that to make it worthwhile.

Having said all of that, I'll be driving a convertible as my toy car until the time that I'm rich enough to afford having a dedicated "fast" car to heavily mod, as well.

Really can't describe how nice it is to get off work, drop the top, and wind the car up a few times on the way home.

Not that i hate verts, i just don't think that a performance cars should be one, who knows, maybe i'll change my mind in about 30 years or so... My car has T's and if there weren't only blue 2 SS left in the country when I bought mine, i would have ordered a hard top. Edited out the masculine reference, was not in good taste...

i dont think everyone has a problem im just saying that everytime i see silver02ta in here he is dissin on someones ride no matter what the post is about..as for verts being ugly i think all f-bodies look good..actually i didn't want a vert but seriously would you pass up on a vert that costs only $5,800 but was really worth about double the price?? that is the main reason i bought my car, also verts are more rare and are worth more

Stick with t-tops man. Verts don't look as good. It's your choice though.

T-top cars look more juvenile. A kids car. The convertible adds a lot more maturity, style and class to the F-body look. Also with a flick of a switch the top is on or off.

seems to me like soome have used this thread to create a rivalry between those stupid ttop owners and vert owners (im just messing arounnddd). if you want more input ill give ya my 2 cents. i think the camaro is more of a vert car. with the top down, dam shes sexy. with ttops, i just think it looks a bit akward (no offense to anyone driving ttops) i still love the look either way. on the other hand, trans ams look more of a ttop kinda car and look kinda akward as a vert, stilll sexy though haha. so really its personal preference. dont let anyone sway you from vert to ttop becuase they say it will perform better. the right mods are what you need! either way i hope you are happy with your pick!

I have t-tops and I haven't for a moment regretted it. They look amazing! In my opinion 'vert f-bodies (especially camaro's) look like Chrysler Sebring's

I can bury the needle in my almost stock vert so I'm not sure why people say they are no good for performance.

I admit I don't like the look of them if they aren't an SS, though. Just a personal preference.

Verts are nice only when the top is down.

So if someone made a thread about Green Lt1 Camaros being ugly you wouldn't feel inclined to prove them wrong?

I had a convertible before my Z, and it was hard to get rid of it for a hardtop car, but I did. There is NOTHING like a sunny day with the top down, you don't even have to go fast it's great to just drive. The hardtop is nice, and is better for a track car, but if what you want is a cruiser/looker/panty dropper then the Vert is what you want.

And as for the top being up, the only time that should happen is when it's raining, so what, 10 days out of the year? not to bad in my book.
