Default static electricity? polishing.

ok, so after yesterdays 3 coats of z5, today I was to do my 3 coats of z2 )

I washed the towels last night.. took them out this morning and went to start the z2. When it came to buffing off the first coat, I could feel the hair on my arms standing on end while buffing the hood.

This sort of continued the entire time I buffed the car for the remainder of the three coats. The only thing I notice is the car doesn;t feel as smooth when I rub my hand across the paint.. my hand just doesnt slick right across it nearly as well as it did on the buick when I tested zaino on it

The buick and jeep are the guinea pigs

Just wondering if the static somehow interfered with the zaino?

I did palmolive it, clay barred it, then used z7 car wash on the car.. then did the z5, z2 then z whatever the detail spray was.

Thanks..

It's likely caused by your towels and the friction of applying the Zaino.

How do you care for your towels?

Caring for Mitts and Towels

- Wash on the Hot/Cold setting
- Use Liquid Detergent only w/ no bleach and NO fabric softener
- Add distilled white vinegar to the rinse cycle for added softness and soil release
- Rinse twice
- Dry towels on low heat w/ no fabric sheets (to prevent static build-up)

chuckles. Seems I overkilled on the static cling hehe.
haha now ill have to go buy new detergent.. liquid tide w/ no bleach tide 4 lyf!! )

Know how the static affects the polish ?

Should I pretty much redo the entire process? sigh to think ) feels like I mayhave wasted 2-3 ounces of the stuff due to static cling I guess ILl just wait a coupe months and do it then.

The car looks really nice. I just noticed the slick feel of it wasnt as pronounced as the last time I did it.

No, the static doesn't do anything to Zaino besides attract some dust. Just give the car and the towels a good wash.

On a side note, 1 oz. of Zaino is good for 3 coats.

Dont use fabric softener, it is abrasive to your finish.

Alright, sooo I have a sheeeetload of charged static towels that need to be rewashed

What do I do about a supercharged static paint/polish coat? The car is attractuing dust n stuff like mad. If I repolish ie add another coat or two will that take care of it? Or do I need to go and do the dawn, clay n z5 z2 z6 process again?

thanks.

Just wash the car (with Z7 or a quality soap).
