Default Gunmetal and Orange Paint

I'm considering having my Pewter SS painted Gunmetal and then having Orange stripes over the hood and rear deck lid....any opinions?? Pics of anything similar would help. Thanks

Might consider asking one of these guys on here who does Photoshop to do a picture for you and you could get a pretty good idea from that. I think it might look pretty good if you did the stripes in Hugger Orange.

I'm thinking that would look pretty damn good w/hugger orange stripes.

Hmm... to me...orange seems a tad bright with gunmetal... maybe black or bright silver stripes instead.

Also, since you're thinking of doing a repaint, take a look at the Viper Steel Grey. Probably similar to what you're calling gunmetal. Very nice color and would work well with Hugger Orange accents.

I wouldnt do it. The orange on grey wouldnt look right that way.

Hugger orange car with grey stripes... that would be a different story.

The reason for considering a paint change is because my paint from the factory looks very inconsistent in coverage almost thin in spots. Does anyone else have that issue with a Pewter car?? I saw another site member who did his car in Gunmetal or something similar and fell in love with the look. I have Gunmetal stripes on the car now.

I think it would look great. Two great color in one paint scheme.

I would go with gunmetal and sunset orange metallic. I don't think using a metallic paint with a regular paint would look right.

I can't find it. BUT I know there was a Camaro I saw on this board with I beleive pewter and orange. It was in the same photo shoot as the MMS Firebird concept.

I was thinking the same thing, or maybe a burnt orange color.

^color scheme looks nice, but they took it too far by painting the wheels, also too many stripes for my taste. but i think the color scheme is pretty sweet

I was leaning more towards a ghost orange effect, SOM would be a bit better with the Viper gray or Gunmetal than Hugger Orange. I will try and post some pics in the morning showing my current scheme.

Yeah, I agree too much for my taste....maybe with just the hood stripes, no hockey stripe or rims painted.

IMO black and silver are overdone these days, I want something different and a little more daring. I currently have Gunmetal stipes on the hood and deck lid now and like it alot ....its just the inconsistancy with the Pewter paint I dont like and driving my interest for a new look.
