Best Polishing System for new Porter Cable 7424
About to upgrade my polishing/waxing capabilities. After reading all I can find and listening to friends I still have not made a decision on what to use. Open to suggestions not included as well. TA has never had the full treatment I'm sure previous owner not as particular as I am. Plus I have other DD's that have been abused forever that I will learn on. So here it is if someone has already done a similar poll let me know cause my search function is down for some reason.
Edit: Car has extensive clearcoat swirls and a couple of pretty deep scratches. Like I said previous owner not up on maintenance.

I can't really vote on the best because I have not used all of them, but I just ordered the full line of Menzerna's stuff. I will be receiving it today and will be testing it out tonight as well.
I can tell you that Zaino is more of a sealant and will not do much for swirl removal.

Best is a pretty subjective term.. however can't go wrong with Menzerna's stuff. Poorboy 2.5 followed PB 1 works as well. I'd stay form pinnicles stuff unless your refering to the XMT line which is fairly new and I havn't tried. You might want to consider optimums line, my go to polish. If you your swirls are heavy I'd suggest starting with the compound and a med cut pad, took out some pretty deep scratches with the compound and wool pad 3 passes followed down with their polish. Great working time (read: long) little to no splatter/dusting and finishes down really well.

I dont think you can go wrong with any of them... they are all good products. I prefer Meguiars simply because it works great (I used to use Zaino), the price is right, and I can get their products locally... even their Pro Lines.

JR HAWK9, that is what I was looking at as well. Where did you buy? Any one else find good prices on Menzerna products. After use let us know what you think.
Availability is best with meguiars i think but if ordering online I dont think I would mind reordering as needed.

Same company I found also. Their Kit that comes with the 7424 doesn't come with the grittier polishes correct? I was looking at getting their big kit and adding the medium grade kit as well. I think it was like 68$ on top of the 299$ for the big kit.

I always recommend this kit:
http://www.properautocare.com/menpolandpad.html
That, a flexible backing plate, the 7424/7336 polisher, and some good microfiber towels will take you a long way to being swirl-free. Top it off with a sealant or wax of your choice and you'll be all set.

Products are only half the battle. You need to use proper technique to get desireable results. I like both Menzerna and Poorboys for polishing with the PC. If using in direct sunlight then go the poorboys route. Take your time and be patient.

Any suggestions on technique MC01TA. Tips are always welcome. New to the PC myself and looking to get experience with two vehicles I dont really care all that much about before going after the TA.

I had to vote for the Menzerna products. From what I read about Menzerna it seemed to meet all my needs for the cars I own. I just warmed the credit card buying a bunch of their products. Too bad I'm having shoulder and back issues, I'm wanting to get the car looking real good for the Carlisle all GM nationals in two weekends. I just got a cortizone shot in the shoulder so I ain't doing nothing with it for a day or so. I don't remember whether I can post links from non vendors but if you want PM me and I'll send you the link to the site I got all my info from.
OK my bad. I see form chuprokabra's post my link is the site he posted. Alot of good info there.

Move very slowly...use lots of pressure when needed...learn the right amount of product to use...polishes go through stages of breaking down so you need to be familiar when to stop...go to autopia.org and join, search and read the articles...use speed 6 to remove defects, i use speed 5-6 for almost anything except laying down some wax...start with least agressive polish/pad and move up to get desired results...use polishes with NO fillers and use good lighting to see your progress...the PC is very user friendly and almost impossible to make mistakes with it. Hope this is a start
