Default Blackouts - Which brand/company

For those who have blackouts, which brand or company did you choose for them. I'm wondering if theres any quality or differences between them. Ventshade, Aeromax, GTO . . . I just want the darker as possible and as black as possible, without any script/writtings/stickers on it, cause I know GTO tend to put their brand mark on about anything they make.

I have avs ones and they had the logo on them, but they were easily removed with finger nail polish remover

I have the GTS ones. Like above the decal can be removed. Quality wise I would think they are all the same, so which one you can find cheaper go for it.

I second the VHT idea. Its cheap & looks great if you do it right.

VHT probably looks better, but if you ever have any trouble with the law about it then you've got some work ahead of you to take it off without destroying your lights. That's why I went with GTS blackouts on the tails and headlights and removed the stickers. I like the ability to take them off....can't do that w/VHT.

I waited around for an off auction on ebay and bought a spare set of tail lamps before doing the VHT work. Not such a good plan for firebird guys but Camaro lenses are both plentiful and cheap.

Far as blackouts go, I agree they are all pretty much the same. Deal with having to remove the decal/imprint, and if you are **** about them fading, pick up some 3m plastic polish. Once they start to haze you can buff them right back to a nice shine,

I just did this on a 3 year old black acrylic bug deflector last night and the thing looks brand new again. It's amazing how well the stuff works.

I used VHT. You can go as light/dark as you want. If you have any problems with the law you can remove it with paint thinner. 2 cans cost me around 20-30 bucks and I did my driving lights, rear fender lights, rear tails and my SS LED.

I just got AVS blackout covers from autozone for like 60$ a week or so ago.
The passeneger side is like 2mm off but cant notice unless you look at it from a few inches away.
(note: car is extremely dirty, dont know wtf happened cause I just washed it about 2 days ago)

Should have been only about $36.
I paid about $44 for my first set of AVS blackouts (3-4yrs ago) and $36 for my current set (~6 months ago). I just checked their site and the price is back up to $50.

I got AVS covers from AutoZone. They were $36.99 + tax. $60 sounds crazy. My front end blackouts I got on eBay. They can also be ordered directly from here: http://www.fbodyenhancements.com/index_3.html. And of course VHT on sidemarkers and CHMSL. (Ordered from afterthoughts.) Taillight covers > VHT.
