Average Price to paint a hood?

Well im thinking about getting a new hood but i dont even have a clue what pricing is on paint? Buddy said its like $450, but i dont know myself.

Anyone?

i was looking in to the sunoco and for prep and paint avg. $500 and i called about 5 shops

Paid $500 to have my hood removed from the car at my house, taken to the shop, paint taken down, hand block sanded, painted/cleared, painted my Blackbird stripes on before the clear so that there is no detectable parting line, then the hood was brought back to my house installed and aligned.

$4-500 is the usual price I've seen. I paid like 475

I paid $425 that included painting the hood and blending it in with my front fender and headlight covers.

If your doing the front fenders, why not go ahead and do the front bumper cover? It usually has rock chips and such in it anyway.

I agree. A new hood is a good excuse to get everything all matched up.

Hell, my roof needs replacing and I was thinking of molding in a cover on top of the 3rd brake light. May as well fill in the side markers while your at it. Fill in the Pontiac logo in the back. F**k, may as well get the whole thing painted.
