Default Painting air diffuser?

I was wondering what kind of paint would be good to use on the air diffuser (the plasticy sheet that directs air into the bottom of the engine). I know someone on here with a SOM camaro painted on it and it looked real bad ***. If anyone could help me out on the type of paint that would adhere to this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Or you could sand it down, and use some dupli-color for plastic, topped with a bunch of clear.

I think either method is just asking for a crappy looking air deflector in a few months. That thing take the brunt of so much road debris and crap that any paint is going to get chipped and vinyl just going to tear. Wouln't do anything there except maybe replace it with a nice aluminum piece that could be sanded and polished as needed.

NO WAY......... that thing takes a beating. Its always getting scraped (on driveways, curbs parking lots) and I'm not even lowered.

I don't know if I would paint on the air deflector. That thing takes a pounding and whatever hard work you put into it is sure to be for not in a couple months. But if you are looking to make it more "clean" looking. you could try some POR 15? That stuff is pretty durable and would give at a cleaner look rather than the grayish color. Dunno if that would work but who knows.

Paint wouldn't hold up at all on that thing. Vinyl would last longer but still would be uglied up in no time. It looks better black and hidden unless you want to crawl under the car at every show and clean the bugs and gunk off it.
