Default Aftermarket hood

Need help desiding who has the best aftermarket hood for a 99 Trans Am. Im looking to find the best fiting hood and also who has the best looking hood. I like the WS9 but I would like to know if anyone knows where I can get one but "without the rear heat extracts". Thanks for the help.

I think all there is is the WS6, WS6 4" & 5", WS9, Firehawk, Raptor and Mecham. If anyone noticed I missed any, please chime in. VFN is rumored here (as they are site sponsors) to make good quality/fit hoods. I'd start my search there. By the way, isnt the hood you speak of WS9 without rear heat extracts just a WS6 hood?

Well, we really can't consider anything by Mecham worthy of our cars, now can we? Ahh, but soon....

I thought that the WS9 hood had lager scoops "taller" then the WS6 hood. I not sure but correct me if im wrong. Like how the WS9 hood looks, but I dont like the rear heat extracts.

I'm pretty sure the two are the same, minus of course the extractors.
But maybe the back is a little taller on the WS9?

*edit: yup its definately looks taller...

VFN only sells the WS9 "Outlaw" which is the one that is higher. the WS9 isn't made anymore from my research.

My order just went in a couple weeks ago for the outlaw, I can't wait

The WS9 is a clone of the WS6 with the addition of the Fire Hawk heat extractors in the same location. The back of the hood contains no heat extractors, just solid like the WS6. The Sun Coast Ram Air Hood contains the rear heat extractors. The WS9 was made by U.S. Exotics, but they quit making the hood and the f-body scene all together. However, the WS9 hood can still be found on Ebay from U.S. Exotics every once in a while, which is where I got mine. The WS9 in the photos above is the WS9 Outlaw which contains a larger cowl. This mold was sold to VFN by U.S. Exotics. From what I have seen and heard, the VFN WS9 Outlaw has shitty fitment, especially in the gaps between the hood the fender. Keep in mind, it is a fiberglass hood. If you want perfect fit go with OEM or try to find a WS9 from U.S. Exotics (mine fit near perfect, no huge gaps.). I have pics below from when I first got my hood.

I have a WS6 hood from VFN but it does not fit like I would like it too. It sticks up about a 1/4 inch hight on the drive side of the hood then the fender. It fits nice but the driver front corner sticks up a little. I didnt know if thats the way all the hood were, or if their is something wrong with my hood. Also if anyone may know how to fix it let me know, I have tryed everthing.

WS9 hoods should be the same height when looking out the windshield as a stock WS6 hood. I have an ASCD WS6 and my buddy has a WS9 from U.S. Exotics, and my cowl is a lot taller than his. It is very noticeable from inside the car, which I love.

My hood does stick up just a smidge on the driver's side, but I haven't played with the fender yet. Move it up a couple of hairs are it should be okay. Looks really bad from the drivers seat, but standing outside the car it don't look bad at all.

Default WS-6 hood question

I just noticed a seller on E-Bay with a WS-6 type hood that looks pretty good. Does anyone have the Powerhoods engineered plastic hood? Its currently available for $845.00 including grills, Ram Air decals and airbox. Is this hood worth it?
