I couldn't find anything in search regarding this.
I have a sunset orange metallic 2001 trans am and am trying to figure out what would be my best bet as far as a wax product for my car.
Up to this point, I've used mainly just Mothers, but I'm sure theres got to be somthing much better.
Thanks for any help.

I went out and bought the Turtle Wax synthetic wax from Autozone the other day and was a little skeptical about paying 18.00 for a small bottle. The stuff is amazing and is the best stuff out there. You will not be disappointed in it. I have a Onyx Black camaro and it when you look at any part of the body, it looks like your staring straight at a mirror. I think synthetic wax is the way to go now. And the best part is, you can apply it in the sun.

Has it been a week already?
This topic has been beaten to death. There is no "best" wax. It all depends on what you want from wax (shine? longevity?) and how you do your prep work. If you wax over scratches and swirl marks, you will end up with shiney scratches and swirl marks. Asking detailing people about their favorite wax is like asking a fat guy what his favorite candy bar is.

I'm moving back on campus in less than a week, which means there will be long stints between washing and waxing the Firebird. What i would like to know, is what type of wax typically lasts the longest? It doesn't have to have a super-deep finish, just something to help it repell dust/dirt/pollen. also, big bonus points if you can apply it in the sun

heh.. i wasn't trying to beat it to death.
for my color car, I figured there might be a better choice.
as far as "prep".. I have honestly always just done a full wash/detail and then waxed with a carnauba from mothers.
i haven't done anything special as far as a clay bar or any other prep.
just really want to bring out my finish metallic elements.
Thanks for all the info all.
