Default Would this be a no-no?

Ok question... As you can tell and know, my car is black with red accents. My engine bay is black with custom red true fire as you can see in my sig. My interior is charcoal with red bird on the headrests. I am looking at changing up the appearance a little this winter. Looking to add some black to interior and for exterior, looking at possibly deleting the red. Now would this is a major no-no in the car world to have red accents under the hood and in the interior but not on exterior? What do you think? I love the true fire under the hood and the red bird on the headrests looks awesome. However, i feel the exterior looks best with no red, but it may be missing something when the t-tops are off and the red headrests show? I dont know, what do you guys think? Here are some pictures to help you out. Engine is in sig, here are some red and no red exterior pictures. FMIC is a chop.. What do you think? Okay to delete red exterior or no?

no red

no red

no red

So what are your thoughts, and a shot with the t-tops off and windows down to show headrest.

no red

Another option would be to leave SOME red on the exterior.... what do you think would be good to keep and what would be good to take off?

You've got one of the few cars that have pulled off the red nicely.

I'm all about de-cluttering though so I think it would be good to shave the emblems anyway and toss the red while you're at it.

But I have to say that it looks awesome as-is. Tough choice.

lol yea, but im trying to unclutter, not add more red. Either way the pontiac on the drivers side headlight is going, just looks out of place only on one side. I may ditch the side emblems and paint calipers to compensate, unsure. My opinion changes everyday, some days i love the red, others i dont.... lol. very tough choice like you said josh.

also the front bird should be going in place for a filler plate with mesh grill , so that will be less red, along with no headlight red

Not a no-no, a yes-yes...I prefer it without the red, however, it looks nice with the red, so you really can't lose either way...

I say leave the door and the hood red, but not the headlight or the nose bird if you want to delete some of it.

Not too many cars look good with a red/black combo like yours, but yours looks good for some reason. It is not overdone, and very subtle, maybe thats why it looks good.

Maybe if you switched to have the silver replace the red, it would blend in more.

My philosophy is 'less is more'.

I like it the way it is. But I know it is nice to change it up after a while. I say ditch the headlight decal, and polish the calipers and leave the rest. JMO.

I say you should delete the red under the hood and send those nasty red true fire pieces to me for safe keeping!

I think it looks better with the red deleted and all black. It looks much cleaner and more bad ***. In the end, though, do what you want your car to look like. If anything, you should at least remove the headlight emblem.

i would leave the hood and get rid of the rest of red.
calipers should match the color of the car imo...very rarely i like seein a car with differant color calipers but thats just me.

I would do away it completely on the exterior..... I think it looks much better without. It looks good with it though, so If you like it keep it. It's just my opinion that it looks better with no red on the outside except the honey comb taillights

I too have a black Trans Am and struggled for a while with what color scheme to go with. Finally I am in the process of putting on some Light Charcoal Metallic decals and LOVE the look.

I wud suggest to definetly delete the whole door side moldings and headlight decal. But I think its really necessary to leave the nose bird and ram air decals to break up all the black. Your decals look kinda bright to me (maybe its just my comp.?), try for a dimmer, more subtle shade of red and go from there. Also, red calipers are always a good thing.

Just delete the headlight red. The rest is cool. And paint the calipers.

Due your car rocks as it is, and the engine bay is very sweet too. I'd say that you should get the calipers painted red or polished. Dude your avatar is memerizing too.

The true fire and headrests look fine. I think the exterior would be "cleaner" without the red accents.
