LS6 intake is finally done!!!! -PICS!- Ok, now I know its not perfect. But my starting point really sucked and I put alot of work into getting it where it is now. The prep isnt perfect but I'm extremely happy with the colora nnd overall outcome!!

Considering what you had to start with, it looks pretty damn good. I will make one suggestion and that is to take some lacquer thinner and wipe
the paint out of the fuel injector holes. It is guaranteed that when you install your injectors that paint in there will chip off. One of two things happen:
1) paint chips get into your heads
2) the chips will "migrate" out onto the adjacent surfaces of the intake.
Neither one especially #1 is a good thing.
Soooooooo, was it worth all the effort??

Oh, one more thing regarding installation: make sure you torque the bolts to the right spec (7 ft-lbs or 84 in-lbs) and NO more. Otherwise the paint on the bolt posts will start to crinkle. I had to re-do my first intake because of this, talk about pissed!!

Thanks! As for was it worth it? Yes and no. For the finished product not really, it was ALOT of work. BUT it was very worth it for the learning experience I think. I learned alot about painting and prep work on just this little SOB.

I did pretty much what parbreak's sticky said except after the primer I hit it with bondo spot glaze or something like that (in a red tube) to fill in all the huge nicks
and dents in the plastic. Sanded that down, hit it with adhesion promoter again, and hit it with primer again.
I can't wait to get it on!
