new project to clean up engine bay.
made these little panels to try and clean up some of the rats nest worth of wiring under the hood. still havent decided what to do about the battery and fuse boxes and im working on trying to get some frc's cut to put on to hide some of the other stuff. they will be black to match the engine bay.

How are you going to finish the panels? Show some attention to the borders closest to the headlights.
Cool to see the progress! I love the pcm cover. ~Joshua

I was worried about that too the first time I closed my hood, all that work and the hood smashes the **** out of my carbon fiber!! Luckily it doesn't hit at all. The large hole is so the "SS" hood ductwork can clear along with the hood latch.

ive thought of trying to use some kind of foam and taping everything off as well as the hood then closing the hood so it would form the shape and then sanding it down to make a smooth sold peice. any idea what type of foam or the like to use? i thought the great stuff foam but dont want my hood to be stuck closed

I believe you could use great stuff, but before you spray it in there, spread a thin layer of vaseline on both surfaces to act as a release agent. When it's hardened, you should be able to pop the shaped foam piece out and clean up the vaseline. A hacksaw blade works really well for trimming hard foam. Once you have a shaped foam piece that is the right shape, create a fiberglass mold from it. Then you could make a fiberglass piece from the mold. Here's a tutorial from Fbodyaudio.com for making molds: http://fbodyaudio.com/articleviewer....cle=molds.tech

And just when I thought I was done customizing my engine bay!!!
Nice ideas guys!
My main concern is not hiding the wiring harnesses, but that gray plastic and the gaping hole between the nose and the radiator!!!
This picture has me thinking... hhhmmmmm...

anyone else have an idea of what i could put in this area and close the hood so that it would give me a mold of the open spaces and maybe make a nicer peice out of fiberglass or the like? the great stuff doesnt seem to want to dry on top of the vaseline and i painted them to give me an idea of the final product but not sure if i like it now.
