Haha, that's great.

You can hate on it all you want but I like it and that's all that matters to me.

How does that sound having the sub right behind you?

Wow. I never knew people were so passionate about deleting or not deleting rear seats. Certainly never heard it called the "moocher mod" so people couldn't sit back there. LOL

I thougt the main reason was to save weight. Which if I remember correctly is 33-lbs including seats, bolts, brackets and seatbelts. Certainly not a lot, but every little bit adds up when in the pursuit of a killer ET. I had mine removed and immediately put them back because it was so f-ing loud inside the car. To each their own.

I can tell you this as I've tried the sub in a lot of locations and took mesurements. In the back seat area you can get really good sound quality, but you automatically lose about 5 dB. That's a pretty big amount. Doubling the power is about a 3dB increase. Doubling the cone area without a lose of power to the subs (so double the power for both to stay the same) gets you about a 6 dB increase. If you want good efficiency or the best output then the far back area is the way to go. The corner loading you get with the sub in the far back makes a huge difference.

If your only looking for a certain amount of bass, then the back seat area can be fine. Oh yea, the back seat area also gives you a bit of a kick in the seat that you can feel. Some folks like that, some don't.

The last time I had passengers in the back my car scraped like crazy and I got a DUI.

This works for me until something else comes along. The amp is under the box behind the driver's seat.

Cool enclosure BeachZ, I was just describing something like that over on this thread:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/wiring-stereo-electronics/588234-rear-seat-amp-racks.html

I'm assuming the 2 holes are for air to circulate?

Thanks, yes, the holes are for circulation. I read your other thread. Man, your setup is something else.

Did you see the latest plans?
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...=585731&page=5

My setup is very plain right now, but it will be pretty bad *** when the new stuff is finished and yes, the rear seat will be deleted.

I've personally liked it when peopel take them out and buy new carpet that doesn't have the cutouts, like lightweight race carpet...

That reminds me, who makes the carpet without the cutouts?

I had my interior completely redone with black leather and not the cheap stuff GM uses either. I went with a high quality leather and I still did the rear seat delete.

my primary reason for removing my seats: I was ******* sick of everyone wanting to ride in the fast car home from the bar. Weight reduction is just an added benefit. I agree with much of what is being said about adding a tool box or what not, if you want to put something there it should be a Nitrous bottle or a subwoofer

No, but it caused the first and it created bad back seat karma.
