Default How do I get rid of this?!?! **pics**

While I was doing my Berger panel I decided to remove my side "Z28" emblems because I am going vintage. They were very easy to remove however when cleaning up the final pieces of the double sided tape I noticed some "tape" I could not removed. Upon further investigate I noticed what seemed to me clearcoat over and old outline of tape. I know the previous owner had the front end painted when he removed the factory front ground effects so I am assuming that is what it is. I have (4) pictures below and I was wondering what I can do to remove it? Any help would be appreciated.

I know the GM dealers have the stuff to take it off with, I cant remember what its called though. Most autoparts stores should have it too, its a mild version of paint thinner from what I can remember.

I should have clarified above better...the outline you see in the pics is actually covered by what I believe is clearcoat. I have gotten off everything I could using bug and tar remover followed by 3M rubbing compound, 3M swirl mark removed and 3M wax. Nothing I tried took it off.

wetsand? that would be your only choice, and if that doesnt work either repaint it or put them back on.

A repaint is your only solution if it has been cleared over. It will have to be sanded out, the clear coat feathered and probably lightly primed. Paint the erea, blend the collor and clear the whole panel.

Like they said... Repaint. I had the same problem and worked on it for many hours to no avail... Needed a little painting done and just had it fixed at the same time.
