I called them, and the person on the phone said an officer needs to visually inspect the car.

That's one of the stupid laws here that no cop ever pays attention too. Dark tint is just such a neccessity here. My friends neighbor is a cop and both his cars have illegal tint on them lol.

I got a window tint fix it ticked about three years ago and i didnot take any tint off. Just pay the fine it was like $35 and keep the tint. To me that was worth it to not have to worry about taking it off and going through trouble with puting it back on. Just send a money order or check to court house clerk with the ticket. Thats what i did and havent had any problems.

I am in the Chicago Area and had limo tint on my black t/a. I got pulled over 8 times in about 3 1/2 months. I only got 3 tickets because i kept getting pulled over while i would be on a previous window tint ticket. But anyways I took some older pics of the car to court all 3 times and all 3 times I was dismissed. All 3 of those tickets i got no front plate tickets also but i suction cupped my plate to the front and those got dissmissed too.

Too fast for the feds n' to cocky for the cops.

Where I live 35% all around(except the windshield) is perfectly legal. Check your local laws, and make sure this cop isn't pulling a fast and dirty one on ya.

it has nothing to do with keeping officers safe! the reason is keeping night time visibililty at its highest. darkening out the windows makes it hard to see at night - which makes it unsafe. that is why they have a tint law. be like driving with your sunglasses on at night. I had a BMW 325is that i bought used, and the car had limo tint on the side and back, plus tint on the front window! yeah, the guy who owned that car before me must have been an albino or something. it was scary to drive that at night! i always thought i was going to hit someone or something because i could hardley see!

It seems to me that here in Cali luck may have something to do with wether you get busted or not. I used to have my front windows tinted and never got hassled for it. Except for one time while at a car show in San Diego, but the cops were patroling the parking lot looking for something to bust you for. Then again I used to drive an 89' LeBaron so it didn't really get much attention. I also see a lot of cars drive around with their front windows tinted. I think my T/A might get noticed a little more. I sucks because I really want to tint my windows .

The pics will work. My buddy did it. But, the only problem I see. Is if you get another ticket for the same thing they will catch on.

He's not. You can only have the top 4" of the side windows tinted in MI. The back does not matter though. I wish 35% was legal here

I wouldn't want to walk up next to a car with the windows pitch black if I was a cop. But still, 35% is light enough. Plus who says the front doors are where people shoot cops from? Someone in the rear seat could just as easily shoot the cop.
