Default How is the durability of your painted FRC's?

I am going to order some custom FRC's from afterthoughts and i was wondering how durable the paint is on the covers. I am a little concerned about the heat bubbling the paint.

You shouldn't be concerned about that. They are plastic, and don't retain heat. You can touch them with your hands when the engine is overheating and be fine. If you want to go the extra mile, you can put some of that heat tape on the bottom side of them, but you really won't need it. I had my vette FRC's painted for many years with no troubles and didn't have tape on the back either...

I am going to pay 250 for the frc's, so, I didn't want to destroy them with a hot engine bay.

Mine are from Afterthoughts, I bought the heat tape and covered the backside with it. Never had any issues.

I've had mine on a year now (bout 8k miles and No problems here and no heat tape under them. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. The heat will not effect them what so ever! You can drive for 6 hours and touch them and hot burn your hand, they will just be warm to the touch.

I spent the little extra cash and covered mine with the heat tape. I have only had them on for a couple of months but no problems here.
