Default Will a steering wheel from a 99 trans am work on my car?

My steering wheel is peeling at the top, and my friend is selling his wheel off his 99 t/a. Will it hook up to my car ok, and will the airbag and horn work with my car? My cars a 97 so I have the same interior as an LS1 camaro.

yes it will work, and yes everything hooks up. i just swapped my old 97 camaro wheel for a 2002 with radio controls. everything works, except for the radio controls which werent an option for me in 97 so i have no power wires and ****. im going to try and hook them up to do something else. but its a very easy install, should take 20 min tops.

btw, the airbag wires will hook up perfectly so dont worry about that. also, if his wheel is the dark black one, you can go on ebay and buy a airbag for usually very cheap. if you cant find a cheap camaro airbag from the years 98-02 look for a chevy lumina airbag, they are the exact same as the camaros, and will fit the wheel perfectly. its the same exact bag. i paid .99 cents for mine

good luck.

edit: the airbag you will be getting for your friend says "pontiac" with an arrow head in the middle, not trans-am like mentioned above.

i wouldnt pay more than 100.00 for the wheel, and the airbag is usually another 100.00, so if anything buy the wheel, and ebay the bag, you should end up paying little to nothiong for the combo, which goes for over 800.00 from GM.

ditto, my 98 steering wheel was peeling at the top so i replaced it with one off of an 01 with radio controls...lemme know if you figure a way to get those working without buying the other steering column too...
