Default "Stealth" WS6 heat extractor mod (idea only)...

Technically this doesn't fit in this catagory but since all the other heat extracting hoods would go here... Anyway, the idea is to slot, cut, put grills in along the "hump" portion of the WS6 hood (maybe could work with an SS hood too) and the cut some opening under the hood to allow airflow. I could go on a "rant" about custom hood and all that but I won't. Just seems to me like an obvious way to get a possible performance benefit with no obvious exterior mod.

Thoughts?

edit - to me more clear, this would be the area of the hood where it meets the windshield, under the lip of the hood. Very hard to see unless you were in the car and sat up to look at the hood.

Well seems like a good idea to me. Also seems like it would be more effective than many of the aftermarket hood versions since it is at the end of the hood where more air would be forced out. I think I would want something more professional looking than what you have seen though. Stealth and professional appearance = the win!

OK how about this free mod: Take the rubber seal off the windshield/cowl under the hood? I took mine off over a year ago.

Guys, that area is actually a high pressure area, hence why cowel hoods work. Our cars are bottom breathers, and to releive that pressure trapped under the hood you need to vent it closer to the front of the car.

Sounds like it would work but I would prefer to keep the gasket to prevent water and debris from entering.

That high pressure area may work fine for an induction system but my gut feeling is that the pressure is higher under the hood so venting in that area work still work. I am not argueing that it would be more effecient, only that it would be more effective than nothing and would present no obvious changes in appearance.
