Default Best black billet grille?

I'm loving the old school look of a black horizontal bar grille with the blue bowtie in the middle (and the offset Z28 looks cool 2!)! I'm planning 2 make it happen soon, so what brand has good quality. I'm nervous about ordering over the internet (probly ebay) and getting a low quality piece. I know this is a relatively common mod, so who has found a good brand/vendor?

I'm leaning toward aluminum, and some of the Ebay sellers offer them already black powder coated.

While we're on the subject, what other work goes into making it look good? R they all overlays? Do u need to paint the stock grill, so it isn't visible underneath? Are there billet grilles that are not simply overlays?

And finally, what (blue) bowtie would u recomend?

I bought my black billet grille from www.afterthoughtsauto.com, they are a site sponsor. The billet grille replaces the stock plastic one.

Also be sure to paint flat black behind the grille, looks much better.

Ls1CamaroGuy87, another sharp MMM car! I think the blk centered wheels really make MMM look mean! What grille do you have? How long has it been painted? When I searched about this some complained the paint didn't stick well 2 the aluminum grilles.

Thanks subtlez28 always cool to see more MMM owners, not many of us it seems. If you did a search as you said, Im sure you have seen a post or two by me recommending against painting the grille. Its just more work than its worth to maintain it, if its a highway driven car. Go with a powdercoated grille and youll have a lot less worries.

thanks for the compliment...its been painted for like 4 months, aside from normal rock chips and road rash, the paint sticks fine, just have to touch it up every now and then
