Supercharger, Cold Air Intake, Racing chip
Hey guys
im looking at purchasing a supercharger off a GTP. They estimate a 35hp-40hp gain for around 200.00
also im looking at purchasing a K&N Cold Air Intake for my firebird. They usually go for around 200 also
And now to racing chips. I am not really sure of which one to get. Gorillaz chips look pretty good 35hp-40hp for only 20.00. I am wondering if this is too good of a deal.
let me know if i should go through on these parts and if not these parts what would you reccomend for my v6

The GTP motor is different that the Camaro motor. They are both 3.8 liters but the L67 (GTP, SSEI) is set up to run boost. The L36 (Camaro, Grand Prix, Firebird) is not set up to run boost. To say, I'll buy this Eaton M90 for $200 bucks and put it on for 35-40hp is a ridiculous statement. All of the L67 guys making any really impressive numbers are running forged internals, ported blowers, tiny *** pullies, big intercoolers and STILL seeing all kinds of knock retard (check out www.clubgp.com). It is going to be probably 10x more money to "throw on" a $200 supercharger you got off of Ebay.
I actually think you should research for at least another month or so. To even speak of installing a supercharger while asking if it is a good idea to buy a, what was it, Gorrilaz chip-which apparently will give you as much hp as your proposed supercharger idea. Def. to good to be true. If everyone running the L36 Camaro's could have 300hp from installing a $200 blower and a $20 chip there would be tons of them.
If you really want to boost your car you need to build it to do so. With the internals you have you'd be lucky hitting 4psi with no intercooler or meth injection.
Check out www.fiero.nl and the sponsors on www.clubgp.com for building your motor.
Those Fiero guys have been building the L36 to be turbocharged for years and are making some impressive numbers. You will have very little luck finding anybody but riced out high school kids on any Camaro or Firebird V6 site. The guys on the clubgp and fiero site know their ****. How many 4000lb V6 FWD cars that run 10s are owned by high schoolers?? However, to boost your car you are going to end up spending as much as it would cost to sell your car and buy an LS1. I mean, at the end of the day do you want to have a maxxed out V6 car you dumped $4k into to run 13s or do you want a car that runs 13s stock and can hit 10s on a NA setup?

But you only want to add the supercharger, an air intake, and a retarded 'chip' for appearance right? Then maybe you can do some detailing and polish the blower.
Hint hint ... A&D section of LS1Tech.

If you really wanna go fast with a V6, go with an LC2 out of a turbo Buick. Do your research a bit and you'll find the swap isn't too involved... of course you'll almost have to go with a slushbox.

gtps are not pos buddy....my old one with a stock blower and stock internals would trap 104....i think ur camaro traps in the 80's....and even with a "racing chip"....you need a custom tune if your going to run boost.
