Dodge Ram > Chevy Camaro So I park my car across the street at a guy's house. I'm there to test drive a car (94 T/a 
) and I park my car, I back it in at the lot across the driveway. I walk over to the T/A and i'm looking at the paint on it when i hear a truck start up, so i look out of reflex and payed no attention to it. About 30 seconds later i hear "crunch" i look up and i see the bed of the truck sitting on the hood of my car. The first words out my mouth are "Are you ******* kidding me?!" I wasn't even parked for 5 minutes... the guy hit me hard enough that it pushed the car back about a foot. So i get his information and i call my dad and get him to come out and look at it and make sure i don't get screwed over. While i'm waiting the guy who hit my car is trying to play it off like i shouldn't have been parked there since it was a customer parking lot. i flipped on the guy 
started cussing him out and **** and owner of the T/A helped me out by throwing his oppinion in too. So when my dad gets there with the camera we start talking about a settlement.
I should have gotten more money out of him but i know a guy who does good work for cheap and he estimated me $500 in damage.
the guy's insurance wouldn't cover anymore accidents so he payed me $510 cash.
I didn't even get the drive the T/A because the guy's wife didn't leave him the keys
I called a local junkyard and they have a red hood for $200 so i have $310 to help with the down payment.
I figured i would share my shitty experience today and i'll post pics later tonight when i get home from work.

why the f would you take money from a guy without knowing how much its going to cost to fix it? what if your frame was bent and it will cost a 1000 to straighten? your screwed unless you take the guy to court. Id have taken the guys insurance anyways, given him a quote from an body shop then given it to him.

i knew how much it was going to cost to fix it. I guess i left out the part that i called a buddy of mine.. my bad dude
i've had this happen to me already before almost same scenario. Parked my car went inside came back out and the guy asked if that was my car and said that he hit it. Company truck company stiffed me. I took them to court and they didnt show up. i just called and left 3 voice mails today actually telling them that i want my money in so many words.

Man thats cheap. I had the same thing happen to me over the summer. Neighbor of my girlfriend backed his truck over the front of my TA. Dealer estimated $2000 to fix, I didn't think it was nearly that bad. His insurance paid the dealer and I got rid of all those paint chips for free. I was upset at first, but realized that I would get a free paint job on the front so I was actually happy.

$500 is absolutely retarded... That would cover painting a hood and bumper but not replacing them...
You could have gotten a new (Sunoco, SS, Cowl, etc...) hood out of this dumbass...

I say you got shafted.. No one's insurance would refuse to pay out if the driver got in more accidents...thats what they are there for, to pay for what they're clients screw up. The only thing that would happen would be they would fight you on cost(maybe), but from the looks of it couldn't so they would pay you and drop his ***. He said that cause if he really does have a record of wrecks with them he doesn't want to get dropped or have his rates go up.
Insurance companies stay in buisness by insuring people...like that guy.
I say next time if there is one, dont listen to the dude...get his info let the insurance companies battle it out, and get cops involved. Never take the dudes word.
