Stock appearing FAST intake?
search is broken and I went back 15 pages.
Does anyone have input as to how to make a FAST intake appear as stock as possible?
I am very much into the sleeper type look.
Thanks

you can sand the "FAST" lettering down, then have it painted black....
or better yet, have it painted the color of your car, and if anyone asks, just say you had the intake painted to match the car.....
if you cant hide something, then hide it in plain view.... i have crap on my car in plain view that noone has ever "seen"... you just have to do it with some thought...

I sanded off the "FAST" and "Wilson" lettering off the top of my fast 90. I then got a little JB weld and when it was a lil tacky, I put a bit on my index finger (using a rubber/nitrile glove, of course) and tapped it over the ground area to give it that cast look like the rest of the intake. I still havent painted it flat black yet, will probably do that in a week or two.

Here's my handy work:
Let it get lots of dirt on it by never cleaning your engine bay, and those who don't know the ridge design will fall for it everytime.
Why not do some porting while you're in there?

So, most people will know exactly what to look for, but some will just take you word on it because it looks "stockish" because there are no logos splattered across your parts.

As dragon said, let it get a little dirty, hide as many of the aftermarket logos as possible and maybe the ****-fornia Highway Patrol may not notice when making me pop the hood. I'm hoping my cam will be stealth enough at idle. I'm not trying to lie to people about what I have in there as mentioned above, a quick look at the TB will show the truth. I'd just like it to look as stock as possible, less attention getting.

Did you guys prep the intake with primer or anything before paint? Following the guidelines in the sticky will get it to an automotive paint finish..
Im probly just going to do a flat black.
Any write ups on the porting, or is it pretty obvious where to grind?

Where is the sticky? I couldn't find it. I've been wondering about the prep work as well. Is Hi Temp paint required?
