I'd like to ditch my airbag too.

Can you see the gauges well with the smaller size?

Is it true what was said earlier about most aftermarket wheels sticking way out? I'm just starting to look into these.

I think it looks great !

The focus in this pic makes it look a mile away from the gauges...

Wow, that looks great. I'm usually not a fan of other steering wheels either but this one fits.

Is it detachable? (My first guess is no. )

Looks great man.

It blows my mind that no one makes an aftermarket wheel with an airbag? I mean wtf?

Says the guy looking to go 10's......

But maybe removing the airbag is not strictly legal. I found this on a website:

Disclaimer—Every automobile manufactured for sale in the United States must be equipped with an Automatic Restraint System which meets Federal Safety Standards. MOMO has been advised it may well be a VIOLATION of Federal Law for any manufacturer, distributor, dealer or motor vehicle repair business to remove an airbag or otherwise render it inoperative. Accordingly, Federal Law should be regarded as prohibiting MOMO distributors from removing an airbag steering wheel and replacing it with a MOMO Steering Wheel. MOMO expressly disclaims any liability for any and all damage, injury, or other recovery related to any MOMO Steering Wheel installed in a vehicle previously having an Airbag Restraint System.

i recently got into an accident with my old '83 GMC vandura 55mph - 0mph (no airbags). it had a bed in the back, fridge, microwave, speakers, etc. and after the impact, everything was completely disassembled and in the front of the van. unfortunately, without the airbag, my face hit the wheel, but luckily it was right beneath the nose and right above the upper lip, so i only broke my upper frenulum. i wish it had an airbag, because i wouldn't have had to deal with a bruised face and such. my seatbelt saved my life!

lol back on track... i love the wheel! it matches the rest of the interior trim quite nicely! i just wish they made ones like that with airbag compatibility.

Also keep in mind that the air bags don't do anything in a side impact, rear impact, roll, fli, spin etc... They only work in frontal impacts. So you have to figure the odds of getting in a wreck first, then the odds of that wreck being a frontal impact. Then the odds of it beng at a high enough speed that the seatbelts by themselves won't be enough to protect you.

I'm still undecided, though.
