Default New Steering Wheel Pics....

I pulled my stock stereo system and put in an Alpine receiver with a 500W amp and one 10" subwoofer. So the radio controls on my steering wheel no longer worked, and that gave me an excuse to nuke that big frickin stock wheel. Instead, I bought a Momo Commander R steering wheel, which is just 13.5" in diameter.

I LOVE this steering wheel. It makes the car a lot more manageable-- for example, my car has a tendency to "follow" grooves, because of the wide tires, and it's easier to counteract that with this wheel. You just feel the road a lot better, and it's a lot easier to turn the car-- you can turn a corner with just about a quarter turn of the wheel. It's flat on the bottom, so it clears your knees if you want to drop it way down, and it's padded in the right places. It really makes the car a lot more fun to drive. And I never thought about this when I bought it, but the smaller diameter makes it much easier to get in and out of the car. Best interior thing I've done to my car.

You can find different deals, but around $300.

Yeah, that's the only wheel I've seen that fits nicely and isn't in the driver's chest.

Looks Great!

It'll suck if you wreck and need the airbag but sacrifices must be made!

Not a big fan of airbags? I know our steering wheels are ugly, and the one you picked is very nice, but I'd rather deal with the ugliness and have an airbag instead, but that's just me.

That wheel looks awesome!

If you're going for weight savings in the back (which I'm guessing, seeing how you did the rear seat delete) you might want to get rid of the seat belts too.

Maybe you should read this: Airbag Injuries

I'll take my chances without an airbag. However, I do plan to get different seats and then I'll put in harnesses as well. The passenger side air bag still works. btw.

I wondered if anyone would notice that. Just been too lazy to get rid of them.

Looks very good. Can you brief some of the procedure to get this on? You need like a spacer? Does the wheel comes with everything you need?
Thanks!

You need to buy a conversion hub for the wheel. Apart from that, you need a pigtail wire connection for the horn. You can get one for about $8 from a dealership, but the one near me was out of them, so we cut the pigtail connection from the old wheel and used that.

yea, all those people in their case stories are like a smidge over 5' tall and like barely a buck-twenty....as long as my car is daily driven, I'll take my chances with the airbag.

Back on topic, the wheel looks great

Is this conversion hub sold by MOMO?

Hmm, maybe you shouldn't be making any more posts either since you may injure one of your fingers! Just kidding.

Sure is. You just need to specify what kind of car you have.

I've used an airbag before and I'm quite glad it was there, if it wasn't I'd have been pretty f'ed up or dead. You can say the same for seatbelts and the injuries they cause but guess what the overwhelming majority of the time the belt and the bag save lives.

But like I said the MOMO looks good!
