Default Lowering

ok i bought my camaro about a month ago and it is rediculously low. i cant go over any speed bumps and i just had to bring it to the shop because i bottomed out going 80 hitting a dip in the road (have to get new transmission, tranny, etc $2,000 in damage) So im sick of it and i want to be able to go over atleast decent size speed bumps without feeling it go under my feet and hearing the most worst sound ever heard. I want to get the eibach pro kit. Is this a good suspension kit, if not what's a better one. And how low should i bring it? I love the way it sits right now but it's costing me too much money
here's a pic

thanks
david

It doesn't look too low. Maybe you need more time driving a lowered car. Not everyone can drive a lowered fbody.

Go with the pro kit. That's what I have and don't have any problems. But then again, it doesn't look much higher than your setup

you sure it wasn't eibach sportlines and not a prokit? Because a prokit is anything but slammed. Here's a dead on shot of mine:

Im with Brian, your car doesnt look that low, mines dropped with the Pro-kit too, and it sit's like yours, the only problem I have is my LT's and X-Pipe ride about 2-3 in off the ground, and it makes going into some parking lots and some speed bumps pretty nasty!

Maybe it's just the pic you posted, but your car doesn't look low at all. Here's what the pro-kit looks like on my '98:

You've got to be careful where you drive when you have a lowered vehicle.

I hope you find the ride height you're looking for.

you think YOU'RE low?

i've got sportlines, and that was probably the worst decision i've ever made. i'm bottoming out every 5 seconds. sometimes i have to take different routes even. anything lower than the prokit is doom. i'm actually getting some prokit springs on this wknd. sportlines look sick and all when they're on but they're *** on the road. i'd stay away from anything lower than prokits for daily driving.

I agree,I dont think its too low either,I got the prokit aswell...You just gotta be cautious of the road ahead...you cant do 80 and fly over rough road, just cant, gotta go slow and slanted over RR tracks and speed bumps....Only thin I ever did was bottom out the rear shocks, doing 45mph I was looking at something to my immediate left, unfamiliar with the area, and wham! Rough RR Tracks....but I imagine in wouldnt of felt good on stock height either so.

F-bods gotta be dropped IMO.

ps - you're car doesn't look low at all. in fact, it looks nice like that. prokits are probably a tad lower and are still great. i think you may just need to go over bumps slower and turn at angles over cliffed passages. good luck tho!

Local news has been reporting San Jose has the worst roads in the nation. No lowering for me. If Dallas is as bad, I can understand your pain.

If you bottomed out a stock f-body with a stock y-pipe, you may want to be concerned with a pro-kit and longtubes/ory.

You bottomed out so bad you need a new trans? I can't think of a suspension bolt on that would have saved you there. Maybe a lift kit.
