Default For my windshield tint

As continued from an on-going reference thread

I've decided to go 5% all around and now I'm debating it for the windshield tint.

if you do 5% just do the top... bottom strips look like ***. i voted 35-50% but i'd orobably personally go with 50%... i think it'll be enough to look nice but not obstruct your view too bad.

i vote for the whole thing either 35% or if you're concerned about getting popped...go with the 50%!...you've seen the pictures i've posted in your other thread...so that's why i vote no strip across the top!

I went with 35% (whole windshield) on an 04 Monte Carlo Supercharged SS i had and loved it. It made visibility at daytime ALOT better and night vision was still good, as long as you dim the dash lights. If you dont, the glare from the gauge light sucks. I did get a ticket for it once, but my buddy had an almost identical car, and I drove it to court, told them i removed the tint, and they dismissed it. Just glad they didnt look at the VIN! I Highly reccommend whole windshield if you dont already have problems seeing at night. I just wouldnt go super dark. It looked great from the outside, too. Its just hard to find a shop that will do the whole windshield. When i finally found one, it cost me $100 and no reciept. Hope that helps. If I had pics, I would show you, but the car is long gone now.

Limo across the top only. Mine came down in the center to the bottom of my rear view mirror bracket and it was perfect.

I work at a shop and tint it lol....but we will tint anyones windshield at my work....and i know of a lot of shops in my area that'll do it. it's illegal to have your side windows tinted here in Michigan, so what's the difference in having a windshield tinted ya know?....

i don't know why some shops won't do it...customers are well aware of tint laws when they get their cars done at my work....it's not my problem if they get popped for it.

Got 35% on my windshield and love it. Have been pulled over about 8 times and never a word about it... im light sensitive so ofcourse i love it, im actually thinking about going 20% i have no problem seeing out of the 35 at night, the 20 i might have some problems but im not too worried about it. Go the hole windshield, not only does it make the car look better but it is actually less noticable that a solid 5% stripe that is visible to on oncoming officer.

if you only go with 35-50% on the windshield with no tint strip, you wont get much actual glare reduction like you would with a strip across the top... its very functional and you can't even hardly see it on my car against the 35% on the rest of the windshield.

so I'm starting to think 35% is the way to go. now I'm deciding whether I should do a darker brow at the top.

i agree that the strip across the top would reduce glare more obviously, but my entire windshield is tinted 35% and i can drive strait into the sun without a problem. hell some days i'de just pull right out of my garage and get about half way to work and roll down one of my windows just to see if it's even sunny out or if it's overcast cause my tint blocks so much light....the 50% doesn't do much though, that is for sure.

i think 50% is just so you can say you have a tinted windshield with the security of never getting popped for it. again, cops don't usually notice tinted windshields. there's only 1 cop in my area that has caught onto them. however, be ready for your side windows to appear darker when you tint your windshield since less light will be able to get inside your car. my 15% sides just look like limo with the 35% on the windshield....

As long as the side windows are fairly dark, most cops arent gonna notice the front windshield being tinted 35-50% since its so much lighter than the sides

I've got 15% all around and a 15% strip on top. it goes to the limit markers on the W/S.

Anyone got pics of a bottom tint strip??
