If they are useful gauges then NO it isn't rice. If it is a gauge pod with a couple of gauges that aren't even operational (seen it) then that is rice. Putting them there for the look and not even hooking them up is ricey.

i just allways thought more than one is just way to bissy...and i think its rice and im a low 11 sec car.

cleaner the better no need for a bunch of riced out water temp guages...and the stock one works just fine it even has a warning light to let me know im over heating.... saved me a few times when i had some air in the coolant lines..

I have a dual gauge pod with two clocks in it...I set one on Eastern time, and the other on 1985 time. Every time I hit 88 MPH, weird **** happens...having the clocks helps.

Since the factory tuned gauges are so shitty and inaccurate, then instead of buying the same gauges aftermarket, why not retune/recalibrate the stock ones yourself to make them more accurate? Then add gauges that actually count.

Unless, of course, you do not have the equipment or software to do so.

I still don't completely understand installing the same gauges on really quick LS1's. If you are that diehard on accuracy, then I would think you would posses the computer programs/software that could tune/calibrate your own vehicle/gauges.

I guess there is a convenience/cost factor, though.

For a DD though, there is no point.

No one has the equipment or software to do so...the only gauge I can mess with with HPTuners is the fuel gauge. I've asked for access to the other gauges, and it isn't possible...it is inherent to the cluster itself. The signals it gets from the PCM are accurate, it just doesn't display them that way (talking mainly about the water temp gauge).

Sorry, I edited my post after you quoted me lol.

I only introduced this idea because I read this from another member. I posted about how much of a pain in the *** it was trying to reintall the needles accurately. He mentioned using computer/software to match the needles to the proper place on his cluster.

I've got 8 and everyone serves their purpose. I'm more about function over form. Not a DD but can be if I so chose but mostly reserved for wkend, sunny days and at the 14 mile track we call "Hell" or the "Green monster aka Nurburgring".

unless its modded... its rice... sorry but it is. A completely stock v6 car with a K&N filter doesn't need a super accurate gauge for those two functions. All gauges are not rice... hell i have a gauge pod in my car (boost/fuel pressure), but I have seen a rash of this crap lately around here where I live and maybe I'm just sick of seeing things that used to be done for performance turn into an appearance mod.
