Default shift light location

so i want a shift light but really dont want the light on the dash. i kinda want to hide it to keep the interior oe looking. so my question is if there is any way to put a shift light in the small vent at the base of the a pillar? if not what are some other options?

if you click on this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28ufktZURz4 right when i start up my car you can see the raptor shiftlight thats sitting on my steering column. they give you a black cap along with the yellow one, that would be pretty stealthy

edit: i see you want it in behind the ac vent.. people have done it, theres a write up i believe

My raptor shift light is still sitting on my dresser, I will be installing it in the vent at the bottom of the pillar this weekend.

When I mounted mine there, I just took a dremel to the fins in the vent opening, and then just wrapped electrical tape around the shiftlight until it was snug in the opening. Then you just have to push the tube behind the vent out of the way to make room for the light, and you're all set.

if youve got the pocket next to the cigarette lighter, it works really good in there. we mounted a buddy of mine's there and it works well, its a raptor FYI...his name here is frisky2101, pm him for pics...i dunno if you searched, but i believe he posted pics in a thread similar to this one a few months back...

not a pic of his, but same location: seen here, post # 34...

Put mine in the vent below the pillar. Put an $.89 grommet on there and it looks fine. It pulls in and out to adj if necessary. I run my whole wire out to pcm and did all my wiring there. There are plenty of write-ups, just look under the Stereo and Electronics section.
