This is what it looks like without the seat bottoms (took them out to clean underneath).

In my old car I made a rear seat delete and it looked like this:

keliente- you were actually the motivation for me wanting to do a rear seat delete. i wanted it to be like yours, but i dont think the bottle would have fit, so i made it big.

angrychicken- its actually just 2 pieces. someone did it before me, so they juct used the dimensions from theirs, and then custom fit it to my car. it can definitely be taken out without too much of a hassle, but i dont think i could get it to go back in right.

It's just two pieces of wood screwed together. I made a template by getting that thick blue insulation sheeting from Lowe's...it's made out of styrofoam. I basically sat in the car and cut away with a razor blade until it fit, and then traced it onto a piece of wood. Then did the bottom section the same way. Screwed them together, and covered them with carpet, and got some 'carpet dye' spray from Autozone to make it match.

Well, I removed mine when I got the MRC seats because I knew my rollbar was going in... I HATED driving my car with the seats removed.

The road noise increased 10 fold, I could hear the exhaust, fuel pump, etc... Granted I did NOT have a rear seat delete kit (which would probably block noise the way the seats do) but I had no plans for one either. I was going to remove the humps that the buckets mounted to and get a new carpet that wasn't cut for the rear seats.

My plan was just to have no seats, smooth floor and smooth carpet. I changed my mind quickly... I personally didn't like the look of the car without the seats.

Here's what I ended up with... LT1 leather seats and my 4 pt. rollbar made so that the back seats can still be used (seat can still fold down and with the cross bar removed people can still sit back there):

Just my $.02...

That's a very clever idea - the LT1 leather seats match your racing seats perfectly.

^thats looks like ****, lol, the seats dont weigh anything enough to really help a street car out in a race so why remove them?

I did it because I don't want to drive more then myself + 1 person at any given time, period. That and when the carpet is right, its tightly against the floor and looks good.

Here's a picture of the rear seat delete I made. There's nothing out there that you can buy that looks good IMO.

pretty crude looking right now, all my trim is off and theres lil pieces of insulation everywhere cause im about to do my fuel pump so i removed as much sound deadening as i could while i was at it. right now i keep a few tools on handin the buckets but soon im going to finish it off w/ a kit of my own leveled off with the mounting point for the bottom half of the seat, i dont like how most of them rise up, my ds tunnel is still gonna be visible for sure
