Ask them for a set for a 1998 Camaro... The dealer has to offer replacement parts for 10 years after the car is made. 1998's should be identical to the 1997's unless they had the 30th logo on them or something.

So they'd be charcoal grey?

Yup. They didn't become ebony untill like 2000 (or 2001, damn it why can't I ever remember that...).

Not the best pic of a floor mat but here you can see mine (1998):

are the OEM mats the same as say the SLP mats? Are they molded like the SLP mats? I have a set of brand new ebony Firehawk mats, but don't have a Firehawk anymore...so i'm looking for some plain ones. Anyone?

Anyone got pictures of their OEM floor mats?

OEM is better in my opinion because is't not got the cuts in it on the passenger side...

I got the same things for 98 and 99 mats at the dealer. I ordered some 2002 Ebony ones for my car ($55) and they look ok on the charcoal carpet (i have ebony door panels/seats/plastics in the car)

Interior parts are normally the first to go discontinued, and I believe it is only 7 years they need to provide parts for.

You could always go custom. Lloyd's makes nice custom floor mats for F-bodies. I have a set in my Camaro, they fit perfect and don't need any cuts/slits on the passenger side to make them fit like the SLP ones. The underside of the mats are made from an ultra slip-resistant material so I basically never need to readjust them. I have the deck mat from them as well.

They have a varity of colors, I chose black because the steering wheel & column, buttons, *****, switches, rearview mirror, blinker stalk, shifter stalk, hatch struts, seat brackets, etc. are all black so this ties it together nicely IMO, and gives the interior a little more accent.

The "Z28" and "CAMARO" stiching was done in silver. My idea was to do the exact reverse on the inside from the outside. On the outside I've got stock black Z28 fender badges and black CAMARO letters on the tail light panel, all on a silver car. So on the inside it's got black mats with silver Z28 and Camaro scripting.

Here are some pics. Sorry for the poor focus, I think I was drinking when I took these two pics:
