Ive' heard of people using fishing line or dental floss to remove them kinda like how you remove a windshield, before you do it, make sure your car hasnt been repainted over the moldings. Start with the small section behind the door.

Get a blow dryer/heat gun, gloves, fishing line/dental floss/guitar wire.

Put the gloves on, and turn on the blow dryer. Run it over the molding on a LOW setting for a couple of passes. Run the line/floss/wire behind it, and remove the molding. Get goo gone, or another automotive safe adhesive remover and clean up the rest of the glue.

Wash, polish, wax and viola.

if you bought the car new and it's never been repainted and hasn't spent its entire life in the sun... rip that **** off!

if you know the car has been repainted don't do it.

if you bought the car used and you're not sure, start with one of the small pieces and make sure it's not going to look like crap under there.

Im a strong believer that Fbodies should have never come w/ sidemoldings... especially a T/A. It goes w/out saying that they were removed on both my camaro and my t/a.

My Z is getting a full repaint in a month or 2 and my moldings are coming off and staying off. i don't mind them but i think if you take them off the warp and won't work anymore. I may try and see if they line up afterwards and might put them on anyway to keep down on dings.Of coarse this car is no longer my DD so i guess it doesn't matter. Who know's~Cole~

They'll go back on just as they came off. Clean the surface of the moldings and add some adhesive. When I worked in the body shop, we removed and replaced moldings all of the time. A good shop will remove the moldings & paint the moldings seperatly when painting a panel instead of painting over them while still on the car.
