Default Appearance suggestions/opinions wanted.

Hey guys,

I'm wondering if I should keep the car as is , or do something else to it. I'm going to get the windows tinted pretty soon. Other than that I was thinking of maybe striping her??

What do ya'll suggest? I'm gonna be adding different wheels to her, mainly for the track , either Weld Pro Stars or spring for some Bogart bolted D-10's.

Here's a pic of my ride, let me know what you guys can think of.

Black stripe, black whistler headlights, clear corners with A LITTLE nightshade and some tint = done

Graphite would work too on the stripe, rims and headlights but if you do that leave the corners clear.

I agree with painting the manta ray and maybe a stripe on the rear deck lid/spoiler to match.

Go with the bogarts!

i thought about the 35th LE stripes, in black/graphite think it would look good. wish someone could photoshop them on to see what it would look like.

what is the difficulty level on applying them? I'd rather pay someone to make sure its done right.

not selling the rims. bad damn I would love to run some 18 x 11's in the rear, Ive seen some nice rims out lately.

anyone got an example of what the clear corners would look like with the tint?
where can i get them?

Whistler mod, !badges, !molding, black manta stripe, lose the grill, and clear or smoked corners.

It still looks great as is though.

id say do a billet grill...wide body dick herrel style back end...umm some angel eyes and tint like you said and call it a day.
i donno about the stripes...i guess you could always take them off if you dont like them...i like the black scoop idea.
maybe some chrome ss badges that would look nice too.

Be careful with stripes and SOM. Although I admire the example above, I have yet to see a Camaro SOM with a stripe package that could effectively balance SOM. It is a very hard balancing job with our cars (even w/ black stripes). You will have to really look and compare b4 doing any stripes with that color. To your advantage, not having the black hoop may make it easier for you (and the ta's). What works against us is that the color refuses to stand still which can throw off balance your look with things attached to it.

I think you have a solid package as is. Just shop around and pick something that will balance instead of compete with SOM.

I honestly wouldn't change a thing on your car. I think there's something pure about having a fairly stock looking car that performs head and shoulders above anything that ever rolled off the assembly line. You've got that beautiful color, killer wheels and stance, and obviously a beast under the hood. I think that should be what speaks for the car, not a bunch of gimmicky crap. I think stripes, clear corners, billet grilles, whistler headlights, etc are all just "look at me" mods that aren't necessary on a car like your's. I'd just hate to see you foul up your car with a bunch of stuff it doesn't need.

I'm in no way trying to be an *** about this or trying to **** off everyone who has mods like these, as I think they have their place on certain cars. It's just my opinion about what would look good on this particular car.

Thanks

I'm thinking I might accent the scoop area somehow.

Where can i find some chrome SS emblems? That might be a nice touch.

yea given the color its really hard to balance between tasteful and too much.

Thanks for all the suggestions!!

I almost wanna pick up another car to do different ideas.

i would love to do a dick harrell body kit! too bad they dont sell it.

I'd chrome those rims or sell those for different ones...

Personally I can't wait for the black wheel "disease" to pass.

Forget stripes/decals, less clutter is more class.

Maybe some vintage/chromed SS emblems to go with the chrome wheels.

Your car is excellent, I just persnally don't like black wheels on anything.. F-body or Ferrari.

I, too, don't care much for black rims, but still looks pretty good on your car. Other than that, leave it as is...less is more. Subtle things like a power antenna on a Camaro look the best IMO. I don't want any one thing on my car drawing attention, but that's pretty hard to pull off.

I would stay away from the stripes/clutter, keep it clean and simple. I also agree some chrome/polished wheels would complement the SOM better than the black. SOM looks best with chrome wheels and accents to set it off. The Center mount exhaust would look great also. I bought my polished stainless SS emblems from RK Sport.
