Default sound deadening

i searched but didnt find that many people that did it. was wondering who has and if its worth it??? i was going to do it to my car once the swap is finished mostly because of the stereo but i was curious if it cut down on some the outside noise getting in if so i would like to do it to my truck as well it has some turndowns right behind the cab and on the interstat it can get a little old if you know what i mean.

so whose done it and what where the results post up

I did it to my vette with some stuff like Dynamat that I got from a sponsor on the vette forum. I could tell a decent difference once it was installed but vettes generally have lots of road noise anyway. I think I probably would've gone with a different brand because I don't think it was really that much better than the popular brands for the money.

I did my entire car in BrownBread (doubled in some areas), and then did a layer of their L-Comp, which is a much heavier weighted sound reducer, all along my tranny tunnel and in the hatch area. It made a slight difference, but it didn't reduce the transmission/exhaust noise as I had hoped. It did dramatically reduce panel rattling, and the stereo was much nicer sounding, so that was good. However I ended up spending over $500 for it, plus it added ~100pounds to the car. If its a daily driver, itll help a little, but its not going to turn your Camaro into a Lexus or anything. I may just go back and pull out the LComp, since that is where most of the weight is coming from, and then just leave the brown bread. Also remember a lot of the noise you hear when driving is wind noise, so this isnt going to alleviate that at all. But on the plus side I found a few bucks in change from pulling all the carpet out!

I did this. Just got some stuff from ebay. It works pretty good. I lined all under the carpet in the hatch area.

You can use the stuff from the home improvment centers but don't expect it to do a whole lot. It's real thin and wasn't made for sound deadening. This is also why you should be careful when buying sound deadening on eBay. There's a lot of people that sell that stuff as sound deadening because it looks like it.
