Hid bulbs do not have the same focal length as any halogen bulb except for possibly H7 (or so ive read and had good results with).

I wouldn't say that they are horrible for a HID conversion, perfect no, but far from horrible. The entire bottom portion of the HID bulb itself has a shield running along the length of the buld in a "u" shaped fashion. This minmizes any scattered light. Also, the brightest portion of the light is resonably controlled, keeping the brightest part out of the eyes of other drivers.

The housings run mid $50's. I just got a pair. The only surprise was that they both seemed to be right front patterns. I sort of expected them to be mirror versions of asymmetrical lens/housing units.

They should both be the same pattern not mirror images of each other.

The pattern for each should be something like
_____/-----
or
_____/

Those are the typical patterns for most low beam reflectors and projectors. The beam pattern is dictated by the DOT and ECE (United States and European organizations). The left side is lower so the light isn't shining into the eyes of on-coming drivers.

The first sentence of the first post tells you the answer: "Susquehanna Motorsports".

Google that name, its the first hit.

I had meant the lens pattern, which was asymetrical. I called them to confirm before I spotted your post but you are essentially correct in that these are not "sided".

You should search for the HL21000 150mm Headlamp Kit. HL21004 is for the four headlamp kit.

Did you try the search engine in the top left corner of their site? It works. I just did it. You can find their site on Google (first link) and paste in the part number listed above (only one product matches).

I tried these based on the general high quality I have seen of Bosch in the past, and the recommendations from someone that had tried the Eurolights, then switched to Bosch, and preferred the latter. They are solidly built and I have been happy with the extra $$$ spent. YMMV.
