Talking Old Camaro headlights+Novus= Great pics! 56K warning

My Camaro headlights were looking pretty bad, so I did a search on here and found out about the Novus polishing kit. I was going to order it online, but I found the kit at my local pet store in the fish tank section. I went to Pepboys and bought wet/dry sandpaper in 400,800,1500, and 2000 grit. I used my water bottle to wet sand my headlights and then used the Novus kit. When I started with the 400 grit sandpaper, I thought to myself, what the hell am I doing? LoL Is this going to work? 4 hours later and one bloody finger (wear a glove), the pictures speak for themselves. I saved alot of money because we all know how much new headlights cost. I hope this helps other LS1tech members save a few bucks. The total for everything was under $40 dollars. Novus!

The passenger side headlight. Looks $hitty huh?

Side view.

Driver side.

Time to get to work!

Passenger side. You like?

Close up to show you the power of my bloody finger!

Headlight off.

Headlight on.

Driver side.

Side view turned off.

Now on.

The light output went up and the front end my car looks alot better. I built my HID projectors with parts from a E36 BMW and normal philips D2S bulbs. Now I can see my clean cut off.

Time to hit the streets.

I hope this helps fellow members. By the way, if I can do it, you can do it. It was that easy! Sam

i did my headlights and they also turned out great. i used 3M plastic cleaner, and 3M plastic polish. also if you take off the headlight when using the cleaner and polish you can use a buffer which really helps

I bet a buffer would really make them shine! I was too lazy to take off the lights.

You got those results without a buffer? Very nice.

I know it sounds crazy, but the store owner told me that people use Novus on fish tanks. I didn't tell him that I was going to use it on my car. Thanks for the comment.

GREAT JOB!

I still wonder though as to why aftermarket companies can't make replacement headlights for these cars without them being Halo style...Is it a patent thing or something??Hmmmmmmm...

I wish I knew. I only know that the dealer is asking for WAY to much for some plastic lights. Just do what I did.

Wow thats freakin nice. Could you forward me the write up you found on that kit you bought, etc? I'm thinking I'll do that in the next couple weeks...my headlights look about like yours used to.

Nevermind, did a search and found a review by ls1sounds

I went ahead and ordered a kit from spadepot for $15 with shipping/handling included. We'll see how it works this weekend hopefully...
