Angry My Car Was Robbed!!!!!!

I was about to go to work this morning and saw that my door was popped open a little bit. When I got closer I saw that someone stole my $850 DVD/CD in dash 7" touch screen Clarion. Ahhhhh this **** makes me so mad. The only good thing about this whole thing is they didnt rip up my interior getting it out or break anything getting in. I called the cops and filed a report and they lifted some good prints off the window so I guess we'll see what happens. Im hoping that I can get my insurance company to pay for it. Does anyone know if the deductable applys to stolen items or is that just for damage?

that depends on what you have included in your insurance... but if it wasnt a stock item and the insurance company was not notified about the part i doubt that they will make good for it....

All Eclipse's car audio/video products will be replaced by eclipse if they get stolen out of your vehicle and a police report is filed given you have the orig receipts. im sure its not quite just that easy and it may take a month or so, but when i was lookin into stuff thats what they told me...i went with jl audio stuff though and an alpine head unit...

Your comprehensive coverage should cover this. Make sure to check the deductible first then weigh your options out.
BTW your car was not "robbed", it was burglarized.
Good luck.

I'm pretty sure you will have to pay a deductible even if they do cover it, which I doubt (unless you called them when you got it and they agreed to cover it). Sucks man!

With most insurance companies, you will be OK & it will be covered. Hopefully you have proof of purchase!
Your comp deductible will apply & they may take depreciation on the stereo.

sorry to steal the thread, but what happens if you have something expensive in the car such as a girls purse or a microwave for your house you just bought and it gets stolen in a parking lot on your way home? will insurance pay for that, because it doesnt really belong in there and its basically being transported?

99.9% of the time, those items are not going to be covered by an auto policy.

And by your logic we could justify all theft

Anyway I know you said no home owners insurance, I think renters insurance will cover it also but most people don't have that either. Let us know how it goes with the insurance company, I'm rather curious myself.
