Lightbulb 2-1/16'' Gauge In Camaro Dash Cubby

I am thinking about installing a 2-1/16'' Autometer Oil Temp gauge into the useless cubby infront of the shifter of my 2002 Camaro SS. Has anyone ever done this or have any pictures. I was going to use black ABS plastic.

Here's what I did.

People have used the plates that the convertibles use and put a gauge in that.
Demonbird is one of them. Do a search for posts by him. He recently posted another picture of his setup.

I checked out his Photobucket and found this pic.
I'm sure he doesn't mind, he loves whoring out his car.

I originally started with a piece of an old PS2.
Then I molded it in.
In this pic I had major problems with adhesion, as you will see.

I feel so violated, I think I am going to go take a hot shower with my clothes on

I would HIGLY recommend electrical... Mechanical might not even give you a long enough feed.

I used a convertible switch plate for a more factory look... The convertible switch is my bottle opener.

Is there anyway to make it so the convertable switch opperate the light of the gauge (on/off) or is it the kind you have to hold down? How much did it cost? Thanks

that looks bad ***, i really hate that stupid cubby bullshit. i like how the guages look like the first gen gauges right there next to the shifter, although these are only two gauges compaired to the 4 on first gens, it looks at home there, specially with the white face overlay. definatly going to do that...just need to figure what guages

Those are fog switches that are wired for the line lock and power antenna.

I bought the convertable switch plate today. Can I use a fog light switch where the old open/close top switch was? BlaSSt, your switches are blank; How?
