That is actually hooked up to an actual desktop computer. I am in the process of doing that in my 95 TA right now. Been working on it for a year its a lot of work. Basicially you buy a 7" LCD monitor, most people who do this buy Lilliput LCDs because they are easy to take out of the housing they come in and put in the car how you want it. Then you have to somewhere in your car mount the computer components (Motherboard, Hard Drive, DVD Drive, GPS Receiver, USB, etc) basicially however you want it. You can buy a special automotive power supply that is made to run a PC off of the car battery and regulates the power correctly so that its just like using a regular PC Power supply and provides a clean source of power. I am mounting mine in a custom made box that will go in the back cubby hole on the drivers side. I have all the wiring running from the PC in the back to the screen in the front. The screen takes a regular VGA computer cable just like your monitors at home. And you can also hook up to 2 components to it via RCA like a Back up Camera, Video Game system, etc. Like I said its a lot of work, but in the end it is so worth it. You put custom software on the PC for instance he is running a program called Street Deck. I am running a program called Ride Runner which is free and takes some tweaking but it allows me to customize it ANYWAY you can possibly think of. Backgrounds, colors, buttons. Has GPS, A nice virtual CD player, DVD Player, bluetooth, internet browsing, pretty much anything you can think of. Hope this helps out! If you want to look more into this, there is a great Forum for it with a ton of information. Just do a google search for mp3car.com and you will find it.

Go check out the stuff DragonZ28 has to offer on here. He is a long time member & sponsor. He made me a nasty little nitrous switch plate that could be illuminated from behind but its far from the same type of work Humount offers.

I finally got the trim rings for the vents from boyd (the last set he said he had and was ever gonna make by the way). These things are pretty thick and heavy, what kind of glue/epoxy did you guys use on them?

Also, I had replace the big plastic piece that surrounds the gauge cluster a while back (the big assembly that holds the far left vent). When I got it, I was looking for an ebony piece but read somewhere that that hard plastic piece was the same basic charcoal color no matter what color interior you had. After looking at some of the ones on here with ebony interior, mine looks a little off from the rest of the dash. Is that normal? I don't want to install the trim ring in that vent if it doesn't really match.

Here is a pic:

That looks like a piece from a 97-99 , when the charcoal was really light . Could be a 93-95 too , its not as light as the 97-99 , but lighter than ebony . At any rate , definately not ebony .

Depending on you situation, I understand spray paint works well.

There on ebay fairly regularly . Just make sure the person selling knows what their talking about , to many people generalize with the charcoal f-car interiors and the 3 dark grey colors are so different .

This part is so cheap , painting it the corect way would cost more than buying different part the correct color . If your **** , GM Ebony is rather difficult to match given its sligtly brownish hue .

How about wrapping it in leather? Then it won't matter what color it is.
