Here's a pic of what I used to have in the car. Used a Momo hub.

Hi folks, im thinking of changing the wheel on my 93 T/A cause i hate it.
Its hard for me to get parts for the car cause im in the UK, but seen on Ebay a few Momo adapters.
Problem is i want to make sure i get the right one for my car. Anyone remember the model number of the adapter?
Also does the adapter come with somthing to disable the airbag warning light? Would be annoying having to put up with the light constantly on!
So all that should be need to remove the stock wheel is the battery disconnected for around 5mins? The Haynes manual ive got says to do this and unplug airbag wiring harnesses everywhere! Just dissconecting the battery would be great as long as there is no chance of the air bag taking my face off!
On a unrelated side note i noticed a pic of someones interior on this thred with a aluminium stereo surround with the words "Trans Am" cut out. Where do you guys get them from, they look nice!
Thanks in advance for any replys

it may be against the law i would need to check, but the cops in the UK where i am wouldent have a clue if the cars ment to have one or not.
Got stopped by Police recently just wanting to admire the car, they were like wooh that must have a big engine is it a 2 litre?
Not got a clue!

As a general rule, airbag-equipped wheels are pretty damned fugly compared to a Momo or one of the better Grant wheels....they simply overwhelm the steeing column/dash area.
Since I always buckle up, the only reason for me to keep the stocker would be if the lack of it causes the car to fail the inspection.
It's funny because this thread seems to reveal who learned to drive well after the airbags were introduced in the 1990 models!
I've had them in my last two Camaros over the last 18 years, but never set either off...

Ricey? I am not trying to offend you, but you are a ******* idiot. If wanting to put in a steering wheel that is on par with F1, Porsche, Ferrari style steering wheels then pass the soy sauce. I am tired of ignorant people saying rice anytime someone wants to modify their car. Face it: GM did a **** poor job on the interiors of their cars. Ricey would be type R. Not Momo.
As far as the airbags go, I know several people who were in minor accidents and the only injuries they recieved were from the airbag. I think it may be illegal in some states, but, you can always call your insurance company and ask.
EDIT: I hope my opinion matters even though I did a motor swap and have a rear center mount exhaust valence like all those damn ricers out there....

This is my '98 Camaro.
I think the stock wheel makes the interior look like an old beeter and i dont like it at all.
Since i love to drive the car on roadracing courses and also some abuse on the open streets i want the bether grip. I always slipp my hands on the stock lether one.
I use the Mommo hubb.
I just love my sparco wheel. I dont know but it feels like its more comon over here to change steering wheels, almost everybody does that.

I never owned a car with an airbag before my mustang (not including the wifes or the family wagon) 90's airbag/steering wheels all look pretty bad... jus' my opinion
I had a Sparco D Ring SW and Snap-Off wheel hub in my Elise back in the UK, it pulled the wheel closer, had the flat bottom design, non slip alcantara and it made heel and toeing and just general driving and track days so much better
now i know its not just me and people actually use use these wheels on the street im going to look into this.....
.....so what would happen if pulled over and the cop sees a non stock steering wheel is it a fix it ticket? or heavier?...or not an issue?

In Sweden where i live, nothing hapens. As they cant test if the airbag works they cant say that anything is wrong with the car. But if the horn does not work then they have allot to say.
