Done it twice - all a matter of drilling the holes in the door panel in the right spot to get at the 3 rivots that hold the factory motor in place. After that, drill the rivots out, remove the old motor, put the new one in, bolt in place, put the door back together. It helps to have a buddy hold the window up, while you get the motor in place but it can be done by yourself.

How do you adjust the window itself?

My passenger window has a slight gap at the front of the window.

to adjust it take a look here https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearance-detailing/741112-changed-window-motor-new-problem-help.html

as for somebody holding the window or using a c-clamp i simply use a short 2x4(about 6 inches long) and i slide it through a slot towards the top part of the door and it sits perfectly on the reinforcement bar inside the door panel and the panel itself.. ill post a pic if i can find a decent one

EDIT: here is a pic
