To bra, or not to bra?
With my car coming out of the shop one day, I want to keep the freshened up front of it free of chips and dings obviously. I'm thinking of getting a (gasp!) bra for it. I was checking out the Colgan line and they seem like they won't harm the paint. What do you guys think? Any other options, pros or cons?

I have a LeBra on my 89 Camaro. When I takethe bra off to clean it, the "LeBra" symbol is actually etched into the paint. My paint literally has "LeBra" in the paint!!!
Therefore, I would say NO.

I purchased one (Wolf, I believe) for my 96 SS and I won't go on long trips without it.
Just be sure to remove it upon reaching your destination and clean the front of your car, as well as the bra itself, with at least a spray wash-down of sorts.
It has definitely paid for itself in saving the front of my car from chips and scratches from those occasional long hauls on the highways.
I'm not a fan of leaving it on the 'daily driver' as it will cause damage to the paint/finish of the car if left on for an extended period of time. As a general rule, I get where I'm going and, within a day or two, I remove it and clean as stated above.
HTH.

Just get a clear one. I dont like bras but for a road trip i would consider a clear one. I've seen the clear one in person and its ok but i would take it off as soon as i got to my destination.

I had one on my 95' for 2 years and it did harm my fenders some. I had it to hide my front bumper which got shattered after I hit a dog 3 days after my car came outta the booth. It actually looked pretty good I thought.

Please no. I cringe every time I see one of those ugly things on the front of a nice car. What's the point of protecting part of the car that you would never see again anyway?

Great, thats why mine has one!! haha
No really, sorry, I have one and it has saved my Bird from wrath. I wish I could get some pictures of it showing what the front of a daily driver would look like and with those work trucks with no tarps on them on the highway! And among other things. I don't care what anyone says, when I Travel Long Distances and Go to Car Shows, the bra is on....Every day?? No. Especially in the hot weather. They are not meant to be a permanent accessory, sheesh....But it can be a life saver. It has not scratched or harmed my Bird in anyway. And heavens, I have left it on in a three day rain storm, the front came out cleaner than the rest of the car!! Of course I spared no expense with this car bra, it fits on like a glove and the only things it doesn't cover is the hood, fog lights and the opening below the turn signals. You get what you buy and it will look so....

Its your car, depending on where you live and your roads, and bug populations....I say yeah, get one, always better to have em on trips and such, and they really do save your paint...its your car, just don`t leave it on full time, like anything else they will trap dust and such under the bra if you leave it on too long....

I have the clear one but only on the very front of the hood. I only got it to protect the flames which it has but................now we are finding out that the original painter did a lousy job on the flames and they are not holding up. If I was to take the clear protectant off now most likely some of the flames would come with it In this pic you can see on the front/left a bubbled area near the edge of the inner part of the flame... the U part.
