Default Cleaning + removed side moldings

Monsoon season is upon us here in Vegas and after 6 months of no rain, there were a few light showers last week that brough up all the nasty oil and grime from the road. It ended up all over the Z. While washing I snagged the side molding enough to have to do something about it, so after thinking long and hard for about 2 seconds they came off!!

Really clean looking car man! Did it leave any crap behind when you removed the side moldings? I've been thinking about taking mine off.

I was able to get it all off with a heat gun and some Acrysol!

You think Goo Gone would do the trick? A heat gun? The reason I'm worried is cause my paint shows everything lol...car looks ten times better once they're gone though.

I mostly used the heat gun to get the double sided tape workable and then just rolled it off and did some final clean up with acrysol, I'm sure goo gone would do the trick, just takes some elbow grease.

goo gone does a good job but takes some elbow grease...once you get the goo good and hot it will just roll off...best thing to do is get one side going and just keep rolling it up..easier then pulling a little off at a time. Also its best to let the goo gone suck for a second before rubbing it...dont do it in the direct sunlight..

Looks way better!!

I just pulled mine off the other day. I did the badges long ago. I just let it sit in the sun...didn't need the heat gun this time.

I've did this to several cars now, and to get the left over glue I use a rubber wheel attatchment. They sell them at body shop supply stores. It works just like an eraser, and the cordless drill does all the work!

ugh, that brings back bad memories. I lived in vegas for 4 years and I hated when it rained. I had a red 95 Z28 at the time and it would get very dirty.
