Hey guys, I just went to a local tint shop, pretty reputable around here to see about tinting my black WS6. Anyways, they told me they do the back window in one piece in metallized tint. Then I asked about the dot matrix on the top of the back window. They said they put a black tape over it, that blends with the tint. Does this sound right? Is this a good way of doing it, or is there something better? Everything else sounds good, but I was questionable on that part. I want this to look very clean and perfect, so I just want your guys' opinions, what do you think? Let me know anything you know! Thanks a lot!!!

Some spray it black (as mine was done) and some put a black strip up there.
I too have the metallized tint. 30% all around.

The vinyl tape looks great. I wouldn't want to paint up in there myself, and any good tint shop should do a great job with the tape. When my car club and I went it, we did 3 SS's all with the tape and they all turned out great.

I just mine done at the same shop CMNTMXR57 got his done at, by his reference. I too got the metallized tint, but I went 30% in back and 50% on the sides. Light tint looks awesome. The guy didn't spray or paint anything around the dots, so I'm not sure what CMNTMXR57 is talking about, but the tint job does look awesome.

I never heard of that. I have bronze tint on my NBM Z, and they just rolled a 1pc over the window, and let it dry, even over the "dot matrix" area. Maybe it cuz here in Hawaii they tint WAY more cars, but seen the same problems elsewhere with the dots not taking tint! Dont know, but mine is fine.
