Default car is a dust magnet

everytime i wash it theres dust on it the next day. if i detail it, dust settles on it within a few hours. even driving it will put a snow layer of dust on it. is there any kind of dust blocker for our cars? i have a car cover, but i dont feel like using it everyday.

Don't know where Bloomington is but I feel your pain. Between the dust from the produce fields and the damn ash from the fires and the @#$%ing hard water I'm ready to give up. I've been taking my cars to the car wash. I'd rather pay for their half assed attempt than to spend half my weekend only to have it f'd up in 2 hours of sitting in the driveway.

Car Cover doesn't keep all the dust out BTW.

feather dusters work great for the thin, harmless dust layer. I wouldn't try to remove any real dirt with them, tho.

this is the only place I have ever lived where it only takes a day to develop a dust layer after you wash it.....if you happen to leave for a week? you can barely see through the windows.

Maybe its something you are putting on it that produces static and is causing it to flood with dust. try whiping it with an anti static cloth, you can get one from your local paint store.

get some Zaino Z6 gloss enhancing spray.
Z-6™ Ultra Clean "Gloss Enhancer" spray is awesome. In addition to helping give your car a three dimensional, its antistatic formula will reduce dust and dirt pickup by 60%.
This stuff made a world of difference on my car. I used to live around a bunch of corn fields that would coat my car in dust immediately after washing it. I highly recommend this stuff.

try FK 425 poly slick as a QD .. it has the best anti-static/anti-dusting properties of anythign I have tried ..

as a straight QD, there are better products .. but as a finisher, I have never found anything I like better for anti dusting and knock you socks off shine.

Ditto on the Z6. Also, if you guys are using NXT or any kind of cleaner polymer wax thats your problem. They make the car look good, but also make them static magnets. I suggest switching your product, I used Zaino and had great results with zero dust even after a week or so, when with NXT I would have a layer of it on the car within an hour.

I'm not sure how it would work, Z6 is designed to bond to polishes, not really a cleaner wax. It would have some affect, how much I'm not sure.

Best stuff I have ever used was an aerosol Mr. Moto Quik Polish which had an anti-static product in it! Too bad I cant find it anymore. +1 on anti-static wipes

Mine is Pewter and I notice. As long as you don't touch it it's ok but once you touch the door handle you can see the prints and even pewter doesn't hide white ash.
