VHT niteshades is the way to go. Covers can come off, melt the actualy light housing & they can be stolen.

I had taillight covers on my Formula for over 3 years and they didn't melt the taillights. That appears to be a Camaro-Only problem. You can get AVS blackout covers from AutoZone for $45-$54. Its not on the shelf, but they can order it and it'll arrive in 3 days (no additional shipping charge either). The "AVS" logo on the covers can be removed with 3M Finesse-IT II fine-cut rubbing compound.

Here is a pic of mine when they were on:

(I removed them due to inspection and haven't put them back on)

I prefer covers because they are easy to remove and smooth out the look of the taillights. They also cover blemishes/damage on the taillights.

My night shaded Lt1 tails:

Great thing to do to the Lt1 tail lights that have the delamination issue (white/hazy spots that show up).

I like the AVS covers because they smooth out the reverse lights. I've always thought the reverse lights shoulda been smooth, it really cleans up the back of the car.

Where are you located?
I'd rather not deal with shipping.

Not so far, it's a smokey light that comes out of the backup lights (if that makes sense)
