Silverstars are a nice upgrade in lighting but they don't compare to HIDs. Its a night and day comparison. Once you go HID you never go back.

Totally true!! Silverstars will give you the white look compared to the ugly *** yellow but the light output between the silverstars and HIDs are a HUGE difference..

Silverstars are nice if you don't have hazed/foggy lenses. The lighting output seems to improve. I went to HIDs about 1 month after having silverstars but just because the HID kits were on sale.

when u first switch to silverstars, you think your lights are pretty white UNTIL you get HIDs. i got HIDs and i would NEVER go back. spend the extra money for HIDs trust me.

BTW my HIDs were 165 i believe off ebay

Sylvania doesn't make SilverStar in the 4701/4703 size that the 4th-gen Firebird uses. Also, the SilverStar bulbs actually put out fewer lumens than their other bulbs (meaning: although whiter, they are actually dimmer). The blue coating makes the light look whiter, but actually blocks some light. You can check it out on Sylvania's website and confirm it.

If you want more options, check out the Lighting FAQ:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearance-detailing/710357-lighting-faq.html

Its also in the "Hall of Fame" sticky at the top of this section.

I'm going to have to look into some HID's. I had the silverstars before my accident but stockers got put back in, I was thinking of putting silverstars back in but I can get HID's for the same price from what you guys are saying. Do they make HID's for the fog lights? That is a big consern for me I really hate when the fogs not match the headlights. Do these kits come with everything for the high and low beams or are there seperate kits at $100+ for each?
