yeah thats a great idea. I mean even though it is an OEM spoiler, it would still be something different that not many people have. Actually on my OEM SS spoiler there is also a thin line, I wish I would have known to fill it in when I got it painted, thats alright though. I hope you go through with it if possible!

Just got mine today. Think I'll try filling in that line myself. It will look better + won't trap dirt/wax.

Heres pics of it done. I included one from before swapping the spoiler to show the LED brake light i made and the LED license plate light.

I'm also throwing around the idea of some how filling in the bond line so the spoiler looks like one piece, and not two. That is if it doesn't cost to much.

That looks great on your car! I too thought about filling in the line but decided not to afterwards. Since it's an original piece on my 96 Z28SS, I didn't want people to think it was an aftermarket spoiler. I agree with the wax and dirt deal but I keep her clean all the time...and believe me, black is a bitch to keep clean. I like the LED brake light

Spoiler looks really good! How is the paint match?

Did you install the spoiler or did they? I'm trying to figure out how to remove the plastic piece on the underside of the hatch to expose the 4 bolts so I can remove the stock spoiler.

I just took my time and gently pulled the plastic underside off.

my name is dave, but he doesnt know me by name, he would remember the red z28 tho. nordy is mike, but most people know him as nordyracer.

that trim piece has about 10 plastic clips. use a flat head and pry starting at one point and work your way around the panel slowly popping them out. youll then need to disconnect the 3rd brake light cable.

paint match is REALLY good. I am considering going to fuddruckers tomorrow night if you wanna go too you can see it. im thinking 6pm give or take.

oh and BTW that zx is a twin turbo, and the grand national has over 800 hp. those are some bad *** cars.

Ok, cool. I can't go tomorrow night as I have a paper due for school on Wednesday.

Can you tell the spoiler was repainted at all?

I called Alvin's. They said it would cost around $225 if it was 2 base, and a little more if it is 3 base. How do I know if it is a 2 base or 3 base?

yeah, I just pulled it off very gently since i had never done it before. it is basically like the rest of the interior peices of the car, it is help on by clips, not bolts, so just remove it slowly, and you dont need to take it all the way off, just enough to reveal the bolt.....good luck

How much is the body shop charging to paint the spoiler? Did you test fit it before you took it to the body shop?

Kman, here's my PM you read last week...guess you were too busy to help me.

Anyone have trouble removing the high shipping charges from the shopping cart on SLP's site? I haven't had time to just call and order this part.

I just noticed I had a PM from you, sorry. I was out of town this past week.

It took me like 5 times to figure out where to put the code, but it was on the page where you put the shipping info.
