Default Drying

What do you guys use to dry your car? I've been using the absorber lately but have noticed more fine scratches and swirls. I dont ever drop it and it susually pretty clean. Maybe its too rough for the paint at times I'm not sure.

been using a Meguiar's yellow waffle weave. Seems to do good with minimal swirls, takes a bit to dry the car and leaves spots though. Used one of my leaf blowers a few times, neighbors thought I was nuts lol.

+1 for waffle weave use

These are what we use and sell on a regular basis. They are 20" x 40" and list for $16.99. We sell them for $12.49 each. As an added incentive, order any microfiber though this week and we'll ship at no additional cost. Check out all our other microfiber towels at www.tropi-care.com

For best results with these towels, wring out the excess water while drying. This will minimize the water streaking and spotting. It will then be easy to follow up with your detail spray and finish the job.

Don't worry too much about what the neighbors think about using the blower. It's not their vehicle. Then again, they may not understand what you are trying to do.

Use two mf towels one to remove most the water and the other to dry it all off. Works good. I use the leaf blower to do the inside lol.

Initially I use a leaf blower then dry up the rest with a waffle weave. Works really good but then I finish up Zaino Z6 spray and a microfiber towel to make everything perfect

+1 on the leaf blower. used it for the first time this weekend, and it was great.

as far as the neighbors, who cares, my car looks better than theirs.

Do you use a quick detailer spray after a normal was after the blow dry?

220 mph leaf blower. Found nothing better on the chrome firehawk wheels. Takes 1 minute on each wheel at the most.

leaf blower is a little too drastic. I use a microfiber towel and couldnt be happier. its really easy to wash and dry with a well cleaned, and waxed vehicle. All the water beads off and the microfiber picks up any left over water beads and leaves no marks.

-When vehicle is fully cleaned, allow a slow, steady stream of water to flow over each panel...sheeting the majority of the water off

-Use the leaf blower to blow all water from flat surfaces, mirrors, lights, etc.

-Remove any remaining water with a waffle weave drying towel and detail spray

If I could do it all over, I would have certainly bought a back pack blower.

A good company is Echo, I have the hand held and it works good, but I wish I had purchased the back pack version

If it were for JUST drying off the car, I wouldn't be looking at Echo as it is a $300 unit. But if you need it for yard work, then go for the good stuff

Just make sure it's an electric blower. You do NOT want a gas powered blower.

I worked at a car wash for 2 years and would never use a shami or any of those fancy other options. Just regular towels will get the job done quicker and won't leave water spots, smears, swirls, etc.
